Laura DiMatteo

Parent of a High School Student
“Taking flute lessons with Dr. Piso has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. We were looking for individual lessons to complement the learning in the large band setting. Dr. Piso’s  approach is tailored perfectly to each student’s learning style. My daughter has so much fun while she is being challenged, learning technique, and introduced to music theory all in the same lesson.”

Della Bible

Former Student
“Dr. Piso is a great teacher! She helped me learn the flute itself, not just the music. She is so patient and knew just what I needed in order to reach my flute goals.”

Erika Franc

Parent of a Middle School Student
“Dr. Piso has been an integral part of my daughter’s flute education journey.  She has been so helpful in developing not only her flute technique, but also her general musicality.  She is a wonderful musical coach and mentor!”

Valerie Watts

Mentor during Doctoral Studies
“Jessi is a top-notch flutist with fantastic training as a flute pedagogue. She is well organized and knows how to design a program of study for each student she teaches. She never gives up on her students.”

Christine Davis

Mentor during Orchestral Studies
“The most gifted educators start out as the most effective students. They have the perseverance to ask what, how, and why over and over again and work and practice until they understand their craft inside and out. They are wise enough to know that humility and vulnerability, when exercised honestly, yield excellence. Most importantly, they know that the best educators never stop being students themselves. In my capacity as an educator and performer, I see all of these qualities in Jessica Piso. Jessica’s playing speaks for itself, and beyond that, her kind demeanor and the high standards she holds herself to, make a teacher that any flutist would be lucky to have.”
